Mixed Media Art for Kids

Mixed Media Art is an energetic mixed media class for kids that encourages imagination and experimentation with a variety of art materials. Through guided projects and open-ended prompts, students learn to combine drawing, painting, collage, and simple 3D elements.

What students will do:

• Work with a variety of different mediums, such as watercolor paints, acrylic paints, clay, papers, markers, objects found in nature, etc
• Practice basic drawing and painting to enhance mixed-media pieces
• Experiment with texture, pattern, and composition
• Create themed projects (portrait collages, textured landscapes, storyboards, small sculptures)
• Share and discuss work in a supportive setting

Who it’s for:

• Ages 6–16
• Beginners welcome; curiosity and willingness to try new materials encouraged

• Weekly 90 minute lessons
